Amoeba is a unicellular organism having halozoic mode of noutrition. It feeds on microscopic animals and plants. The process of obtaining food is called phagocytosis Amoeba extends its false legs aroung the foor particles when the tips of 2 pseudopodia a touch each other thier cell membreane at the tips dissolves and the food is encaptured.
The egestion takes place by exocytosis. There is no particular point from which the egestion takes place. As the amoeba moves forward, the undigested matter is shifted to the back and eliminated as food pellets through a temporary opening formed at any nearest point on the plasmalemma.
The food particles enters all in the cytoplasm along with a layer of water and form a food vacuole. when the food particle comes in contact with the digestive enzymes of lysozymes it is digested. The digested food diffuses into the cytoplam and is utilized by the cell. This is called assimilation. The undigested food or residue remains in the food-vacuole and is then own out ot the body. This process is called egestion. Thus, Amoeba a takes a food through Phagocytocis and exhibit holozoic mode of nutrition.
This are all about the information of fully nutrition in Amoeba.
